Sammy’s Story
Famed restaurateur, Samantha Smith or “Sammy” as she is affectionately known started her life as a regular dog. On October 10, 1995 the longhaired shar-pei beauty was born. Over coming an early life of abuse, she soon found that she was bound for the pound. Sammy’s good fortune struck when her life at the dog orphanage was cut short. A real nice lady came in and their eyes met. It was instant attraction. Sammy was moving to a new home. Although, the lady had to work a lot, and Sammy was left home alone, she was happy. Life at her new home was short lived though. Just as she was getting settled in, the lady got a job offer out of state. She was upset about not being able to take Sammy with her, and she didn’t want to send Sammy back to the dog orphanage, so she introduced Sammy to some friends that would adopt her. Sammy poured on the charm when she met them. It was love at first sight. The new people thought she was beautiful and they instantly became a family. Her life took a drastic change. Sammy no longer stays home alone all day. She goes to work at her restaurant and hotel. Sammy likes to greet her guests and she makes sure all her guests are well fed and well rested. When guests inquire at the hotel if we accept pets, the staff relates the following” All of Sammy’s friends are welcome”. “We have never had to remove a disorderly dog”. “We’ve never found a hotel towel in a dog’s suitcase”. With lots of love and care, Sammy has become a happy and out going canine queen, who just happens to be a darn good judge of people food and rooms.
Sammy’s favorite charity is the Lakes Region Humane Society, 45 Winner Circle Road Tuftonboro, NH Sammy encourages all to help support or adopt some of her friends. |
